Global Trade, Protectionism and Twin Economic Transformation

Objective of Training

The aim of this training is to enable participants to understand and interpret the transformation of global trade in terms of long-term trends, structural elements and multiple interaction channels. Within this framework, participants will examine the role of industrial policies and structural factors around the theme of protectionism; the interaction of global financial cycles with trade; the sectoral and regional impacts of different types of protectionism; the increasing regionalisation and effects on supply chains resulting from the slowdown in trade globalisation; and the challenges and opportunities presented by twin transformation processes in the context of sustainability.
